National media outlet names Tennessee Vols' biggest spring practice standout

A Tennessee Vols newcomer was named this week by 247Sports as the program's biggest spring practice standout.

247Sports listed Tulane transfer wide receiver Chris Brazzell II as Tennessee's biggest spring practice standout.

From 247Sports: "The four-star transfer from Tulane, where he caught 44 passes for 711 yards and five touchdowns as a redshirt freshman in 2023, added real juice to the expanded competition at wideout for the Vols. Brazzell made plays throughout the spring and caught a long touchdown in the Orange & White Game, and he's a potential starter who should help Tennessee's passing game get back on track in 2024."

Brazzell is a big target who can find success anywhere on the field. He can be a vertical threat or he can be a big red-zone target for starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

Perhaps most importantly, Brazzell is a player who just cares about winning football games. It's not about individual stats or how many targets he receives. For Brazzell, it's about doing whatever it takes to help his team get a win.

"I'm just hopefully able to win some games for the team," said Brazzell earlier this spring when asked what he can bring to Tennessee's offense. "I feel like all of the receivers better each other. We got a lot of dogs on the team."

Wide receiver depth is expected to be a major strength for the Vols in 2024. The addition of Brazzell via the transfer portal is a big reason why that's the case.
