Tennessee has been putting in work this portal season, bringing in multiple talented athletes on both sides of the football. The coaching staff has added Tulane wide receiver Chris Brazzell and Notre Dame tight end Holden Staes, but they still have their eyes set on big fish.

Texas A&M wide receiver Evan Stewart entered the transfer portal and already has a lengthy list of suitors. He amassed 38 receptions, 514 yards, and four touchdowns in 2023 and is currently the No. 1 uncommitted prospect in the portal. The top-rated transfer measures 6-0 and 175 pounds. He was a five-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class and the No. 11 overall player, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Despite being the typical size for a slot wideout, he brings great hands and elite speed to the table, as well as physicality. Stewart was predicted to go to Tennessee by J.D. PicKell from On3 on Thursday. Tennessee seems to be in a good place with the former five-star prospect, as they are hopeful to get him on a visit in January. Some people have listed the schools of Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida State, USC, and Oregon. Many believed that Texas and Alabama were viable options; however, that was also shut down by On3’s Pete Nakos.

The Vols didn’t have the greatest season at the wide receiver position, but they did battle injuries all year long, with Bru McCoy going down against South Carolina and Dont’e Thornton getting hurt late in the season. Chas Nimrod picked up a huge role for the Volunteers and is expected to play a big part moving forward with the departure of Ramel Keyton
