Michigan and Florida among the top three to land star linebacker recruit

Aaron Chiles is the No. 1 ranked recruit in the state of Maryland, so it would make sense that Mike Locksley's Terrapins have survived the cut and are in the four-star recruit's Top 3.

The Terps have some heavy competition, tough. Alongside Maryland in the linebacker's top three are the Florida Gators and Michigan Wolverines. Those are two blue chip programs without any doubt, so Locksley and his staff will have to buckle down if they want to keep the top player in their state within state lines.

"Where's home?" Chiles wondered in his social media post.

It's worth noting that the University of Maryland is only about a half-hour drive away from Chiles' high school, Our Lady of Good Counsel, so if he's looking for a 'home' in a college he wouldn't have to look too far.

As far as a football home, though, it would be hard to beat out either Michigan or Florida and especially the Wolverines right now.

Jim Harbaugh has his program humming, having won the Big Ten as well as making it to the College Football Playoffs two years in a row.

Then there's Florida. Head coach Billy Napier went 6-7 in his first season but had a Top 15 2023 recruiting class nationally. The Gators appear to be on their way back up.

Speaking of rankings, Chiles is ranked as the No. 6 linebacker in his class as well as a Top 75 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings
