LOOK: Stanford's tight ends bring back"nerd nation" look
USA TODAY Sports

A movement that has been relatively forgotten around the country but was a major storyline back in 2013 was the "Nerd Nation" movement Stanford players created.

Shane Skov, Tyler Gaffney and A.J. Tarpley donned the black bulky glasses with tape on the bridge after a victory over Oregon. When asked if they were referencing a movie, the players explained that they were more so embracing what it meant to be a Cardinal.

"No, it's Nerd Nation," Skov said. "We take pride in what we do."

Something that remains true until this day, as Stanford is regarded for being one of the premier institutions in both athletics and academics. An aspect that has become a major selling point for them as they are currently in the midst of looking for a new conference to call home. While that is still unsettled, and much of the attention from the on-field product has been overshadowed, there was a recent Nerd Nation development.

After a decade of it being something we once looked back on every once in a while but haven't really seen make its rounds recently, the Stanford tight ends took it upon themselves to bring it back.
