Leaked 2024 SEC schedule includes September Alabama-Georgia rematch

Alabama and Georgia won't have to wait long next season for only their third regular-season meeting since 2009. Per ESPN's Chris Low, the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will play in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 28, 2024.

Low reports the schedule will be officially released in December, but several dates have already leaked, with the 2023 SEC championship game rematch the crown jewel of the slate.

In June, the SEC announced each team's 2024 conference opponents in the expanded 16-team conference with the additions of Oklahoma and Texas.

The Bulldogs will play the Longhorns on the road, reportedly on Oct. 19, 2024, while the Tide are expected to play the Sooners in Norman on Nov. 23, a week before the Iron Bowl.

Either Alabama or Georgia will have a loss by then thanks to their early-season meeting. The teams have rarely met in the regular season since the conference's original expansion in 1991. The teams have only met nine times in the regular season from 1991-2023, with Alabama holding a 6-3 advantage.

However, the teams aren't too unfamiliar with each other. Including this year's SEC championship game, they have met six times in the postseason since 2012, including four conference title games (2012, 2018, 2021, 2023) and two national championships (2017, 2021). Alabama won four of the previous five.

Georgia (12-0, 8-0 in SEC), a 5.5-point favorite in the SEC championship, hasn't beaten Alabama (11-1, 8-0 in SEC) in the regular season since a 26-23 win in 2007, Nick Saban's first season as Tide head coach.
