Lane Kiffin trolls his own fan base after Nick Saban's retirement
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin is one of the popular names that's been tossed around as a potential replacement for Nick Saban at Alabama.

Kiffin, who was Alabama's offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016, is coming off an 11-2 season at Ole Miss. He's 34-15 over four seasons in Oxford. And he's proven that he can navigate the new world of college football as he's dominated the transfer portal this offseason. It's easy to see why he could be an attractive candidate for the Crimson Tide.

It's unlikely, though, that Alabama will hire Kiffin, given his reputation for spending a significant amount of time on social media. Alabama might not want to deal with the potential PR issues that could arise if they hire Kiffin.

But until a hire is made, Kiffin will continue to be connected to the job -- especially after the way he trolled his own fan base on Thursday night.

Kiffin posted a photo of the Oxford airport on Thursday night with no context.

Kiffin is a savvy social media user. He knows that picture could be interpreted as him leaving town to interview for the Alabama job.

While other coaches, like Oregon head coach Dan Lanning, are posting messages about staying, Kiffin is choosing to troll his own fan base. Never change Lane, never change.
