Dart For Heisman? Ole Miss QB Among Betting Favorites

One of the biggest feathers in the cap of the Ole Miss Rebels this offseason is the return of quarterback Jaxson Dart to the roster in 2024, and the nation is already taking notice.

According to Circa Sports, Dart is tied for the third-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy in 2024, joining some notable names on the list. You can view the Top 8 odds holders below, all of whom are quarterbacks.

Carson Beck (Georgia Bulldogs): +700

Quinn Ewers (Texas Longhorns): +700

Garrett Nussmeier (LSU Tigers): +1200

Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss Rebels): +1200

Nico Iamaleava (Tennessee Volunteers): +1200

Cam Ward (Miami Hurricanes): +1500

Jalen Milroe (Alabama Crimson Tide): +1500

Will Howard (Ohio State Buckeyes): +1500

As you can see on the list, six of the eight betting favorites are quarterbacks within the Southeastern Conference, so Dart will have his work cut out for him once the season begins.

Still, he put together an impressive year in 2023 en route to his team's first-ever 11-win season, and they will now be gunning for a College Football Playoff berth. Dart threw for 3,364 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions in 2023 and helped lead his team to a win in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl over the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The biggest focus for Dart & Co. this season will not be the Heisman Trophy, but the aforementioned College Football Playoff. The field of teams will be expanded to include 12 schools this fall, and Ole Miss is among the betting favorites to reach that pinnacle as the hype in Oxford continues to grow.
