Tennessee knew they needed to add another body to the wide receiver room through the transfer portal. It was a down year for the room as a whole, and they lost Ramel Keyton. Head coach Josh Heupel and company went into the transfer portal to address that need and found Tulane transfer wide receiver Chris Brazzell.

Brazzell logged 44 catches for 771 yards and five touchdowns during his true freshman season with the Green Wave. He earned Freshman All-American honors and entered the portal after the season. The Vols quickly keyed in on the 6-5, 195-pounder and got him to campus. SEC Network's Cole Cubelic spoke about that addition during his radio show, "McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning."

"Tulane wide receiver Chris Brazzell, 6-foot-5/195 lbs, he's going to be transferring to Tennessee. Any wide receiver would want to be involved in that offense with the opportunities you're going to be given and provided. 44 catches, 711 yards last year [and] five receiving touchdowns. Took a look at him yesterday and quite honestly was blown away with what I saw. To see that he's 6-foot-5, first off, he doesn't look it on film. He looks long, but a lot of times you get the bigger wide receivers, they don't move laterally very well. They're not really smooth in and out of their breaks -- they look a little bit stiff kind of like an undersized tight end. Brazzell doesn't look like that at all. He's extremely smooth, very loose, very athletic. He looks like he runs crisp routes. I think Tennessee may have hit a home run here with Chris Brazzell, the wide receiver from Tulane, just with the size and athletic ability he's going to bring to that offense." - Cole Cubelic on Chris Brazzell
