ARLINGTON -- The Texas Longhorns won the Big 12 Championship over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in dominating fashion in Arlington on Saturday, as a 49-21 win marked a triumphant exit from the conference for Texas.

Oklahoma State never got a real chance to get its rushing offense going after falling behind quickly as a result of an explosive and quick-strike Texas offense. This clearly frustrated Cowboys running back and the nation’s leading rushing Ollie Gordon II, who was seen throwing his helmet in anger on the sidelines during a game that saw him finish with 13 carries for 34 yards and no touchdowns.

But the Longhorns couldn't help but find amusement in Gordon's lackluster performance, and took to social media after the game to make sure everyone knew.

Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy, linebacker Jaylan Ford and tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders all loaded up X and got to chirping at Gordon.

"Best rb in the country," Murphy tweeted with a "confused" face emoji. "4 yards. Put some respect on us , this ain’t no joke."

"He had 34 yards," Ford tweeted with a laughing emoji.

Sanders commented on a video taken by KVUE's Cory Mose that showed Gordon yelling "F*** Texas" at the crowd prior to the game.

"This guy is a clown," Sanders tweeted.

This isn't the first time this season the Longhorns defense has completely shut down the opposing rushing offense. Texas silenced an elite Kansas State rushing attack to the tune of 29 carries for 30 yards on Nov. 4 before holding Iowa State to just nine rushing yards on 21 attempts on Nov. 18.

While the defense is obviously going to have a more emotional reaction, Sanders made sure to chime in, something he's been doing on X in recent weeks.

The Longhorns will now hope that their big win in the conference title game on Saturday will be enough to secure their spot in the College Football Playoff.
