Tennessee has landed their big fish in the transfer portal. Chris Brazzell has officially announced he will be transferring to Tennessee. Brazzell is a 6-5 and 195-pounder from Tulane. During his redshirt freshman season, Brazzell had 44 catches, 711 yards, and 5 touchdowns for the Green Wave offense this season.

In his true freshman season, he only had one catch in which he picked up 11 yards. His most recent game was in the AAC championship, in which Tulane did lose; however, he had 3 catches for 41 yards. His best game yards wise came in the FAU game, in which he had 103 yards on 7 catches, which is tied for a career high in yards as he also had 103 yards in his game against Memphis. He did have a multi-touchdown game this year against UTSA late in the season, in which he had 5 catches, 93 yards, and 2 touchdowns. He was also named a College Football News Freshman All-American for his performances throughout the season.

He will come in as a redshirt sophomore and will likely catch himself on the field often. Tennessee has lost Ramel Keyton, so you could likely see him in that role. This is the 3rd big-time wide receiver transfer in the past 3 years, as it has gone from Bru McCoy to Dont’e Thornton and now to Brazzell. One thing that is certain is that Tennessee landed their guy and will definitely have a sigh of relief as Washington also made a strong push for the 6-5 wideout.

The offseason is almost underway for Tennessee football. The Vols have concluded the regular season and are now focusing on roster construction for the 2023 season. Volunteer Country has fans covered with all the latest portal entries and NFL Draft declarations. The portal window is from December 4 until January 2. If players don't transfer within that window, they must wait until May following spring practice to enter the transfer portal.
