After entering the College Football Playoff rankings for the first time in their history this week, the #25 Liberty Flames have officially completed their regular season schedule with an unblemished 12-0 record. The Flames beat CUSA mate UTEP 42-28 in El Paso Saturday.
It's the first time that a CUSA team has finished the regular season undefeated since 2011 and the third time overall.
The Flames passed for just 28 yards, but totaled 441 yards on the ground, a season-best. Quarterback Kaidon Salter was the team's leading rusher with 12 carries for 94 yards. Liberty had five rushing touchdowns on the day.

With 39 total touchdowns this season, Salter is now one touchdown away from the program record of 40. Salter connected with CJ Daniels through the air in the first quarter.
UTEP will finish the season with a 3-9 overall record. They have qualified for the postseason just once in six seasons under head coach Dana Dimel.
Liberty and New Mexico State face off in the CUSA championship game on Friday, December 1 at 7 PM on CBS Sports Network.
