Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese break silence after ‘leaked’ video trends in basketball world
Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

UConn Huskies superstar Paige Bueckers already has a massive following due to her unreal basketball skills. Her followers noticed something trending on social media yesterday. The so-called leaked video has brought out the entire basketball community to support Bueckers. Now, the star has broken her silence surrounding the matter and has the support of fellow basketball superstar Angel Reese.

Yesterday, a leaked video started circulating on social media platforms apparently depicting a morphed video of Paige Bueckers in compromising positions. After the video was brought to the attention of Bueckers, she came out with a tweet on her official account.

The devil works hard but God and the people around me work WAY harder. The outpouring of love and support from the WBB community is unreal. Love yall. Support women in sport ALWAYS. Paige Bueckers via X

She appreciated the support many people showed in reporting the video and stopping the trend. Many of her followers came out in support of the superstar for having to undergo such an episode.

Former compatriot and WNBA draftee Angel Reese also took the opportunity to ask people to support young women in sports.

The former LSU superstar was also the subject of a similar humiliation on social media. She talked about it after the NCAA Elite Eight game. It seems the intention was to show young women’s basketball players in a bad light, which is why the two stars had to speak out. It was an attempt to dampen these young women’s impact on the basketball stage.

Paige Bueckers to carry the flag for women’s college basketball next season

In the golden generation of women’s college basketball players, Bueckers has had to overcome two lost years due to significant injuries. However, with the conclusion of the 2023-24 college basketball season, she managed to re-establish herself as one of the best players in the NCAA.

Going into next season, Bueckers will remain at the forefront of women’s college basketball. Often considered the best of the golden generation of college players, she was overshadowed by Caitlin Clark last season. With Clark now with the Indiana Fever, it leaves the door open for Bueckers to shine.

The senior will aim to lead her UConn Huskies to the NCAA Tournament Finals after bowing out of the Final Four this year. The stage is set for her to light up the basketball stage. Now, she has to fulfill the hype and leave all these obstacles behind. Bueckers has to continue to set alight the trail Clark has set to pass the torch after her final year in college.
