NC State vs. South Carolina opening women's Final Four odds: Gamecocks open as massive favorites

NC State will face off against No. 1 overall seed and undefeated South Carolina in the Final Four on Friday, April 5.

The odds opened up at South Carolina -13 at DraftKings, with the Gamecocks at a whopping -1050 on the moneyline.

The total opened up at 139.5.

NC State's moneyline opened at +675 at the sportsbook.

South Carolina is the prohibitive favorite here and for good reason. The Gamecocks are undefeated overall and it hasn't been particularly close, though they did survive a scare against Oregon State in the Elite Eight, in which the Beavers pulled it within four points late in the fourth quarter before South Carolina did what they do and pulled away.

The best team left in the field is ridiculous -220 to win their next two games, one of the longest Final Four candidates in recent years across both the men's and women's field. Their -220 odds imply that the market regards their chances of winning it all, without vigorish, at 68.75%.

Meanwhile, NC State led wire-to-wire against Texas in the Elite Eight to cement their spot in the Final Four. The Wolfpack are peaking at the exact right time but face a tall task against a South Carolina team that is historically dominant.

This matchup would have seen a much more inflated line in favor of South Carolina had you pitted these two teams earlier this year. But with NC State on the tear that it is, the Wolfpack are getting some love from oddsmakers.

Still, the futures market doesn't like their chances as much. NC State are the longest team remaining to win it all at +2300.
