A federal judge has denied former Auburn basketball player Varez Ward's request to enter a pretrial diversion program in his point shaving trial.
Ward's attorney, Everett Wess, said Wednesday U.S. District Judge Keith Watkins denied the request.

Former Auburn point guard Varez Ward has been arrested for allegedly trying to fix games.
U.S. Attorney George Beck said that Ward was arrested Sunday on counts of bribery relating to a sports contest and conspiracy for allegedly trying to fix the point spread for the Tigers' game against Arkansas on Jan. 25, 2012.
