WVU G Kerr Kriisa Enters Transfer Portal

WVU senior guard Kerr Kriisa has entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, he tells Stadium’s Jeff Goodman. Kriisa spent one season with West Virginia after transferring from Arizona, where he spent three years.

Kriisa committed to WVU last April under head coach Bob Huggins. During his recruitment, Kriisa also visited Nebraska and considered Xavier with former head coach Sean Miller. Once Huggins resigned, Kriisa re-entered the transfer portal before exiting to commit to interim HC Josh Eilert.

Kriisa averaged 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 23 games for the Mountaineers this past season. The Estonian native shot 43% from the field and 42% from three. The 6-foot-3 guard was suspended for the first nine games of the season after receiving impermissible benefits while at Arizona.

Kriisa has his extra COVID year option with one year of eligibility remaining.

Kriisa is the second Mountaineer to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining Seth Wilson.
