The Wisconsin basketball staff has reached out to a dynamic Division II transfer entry who can truly benefit the team next season.

Guard Jordan Pyke from Union University entered the transfer portal following the completion of his Freshman season. Since entering, the guard has not attracted a large amount of attention yet, but one program in particular has had multiple conversations with the recruit. The Wisconsin basketball staff loves what Pyke has to offer, and could end up becoming his landing spot.

Wisconsin Basketball Reaches Out To Union Transfer Guard Jordan Pyke

During this past season, the talented guard Jordan Pyke averaged 13.8 points, 2.2 assists, and 5.8 rebounds as a true Freshman at Division II Union University. Pyke helped lead his team this past season on both sides of play as Union finished the year with a record of 14-15. The guard started the last 19 games in a row for the team after earning a starting role.

Pyke will now enter the transfer portal in hopes of making it to Division I given his great season.

The biggest questions surrounding Pyke as he enters the portal are in regards to his long-range shooting. The guard shot 25.3% from deep for Union this season, including multiple games where he could not land a single triple. Pyke is not afraid to shoot the long-ball, and has had success with it, but needs to turn it into something automatic.

For Wisconsin Badgers Basketball, Pyke Could Become the Ultimate Team Fit

Standing at 6-foot-7-inches, 195-pounds, the combo guard Pyke could be just what the Badgers are looking for. The lengthy guard provides basketball intelligence and a knack for finding the open play on the court. Pyke does not overly excel at anything one thing on the court, but rather does what he needs to do to help his team win each game.

Wisconsin basketball has been looking for someone to replace forward Tyler Wahl, not just as a player but as a leader on the court. Pyke could be just the man Wisconsin needs due to his play style and his willingness to put the team before his own stat sheet.

Will the Wisconsin Basketball Staff Land Pyke in the Near Future?

Currently, Wisconsin is the biggest school that has been in contact with Pyke, which likely means they hold the biggest offer for the guard. Between his fit with the program, and the amount of programs currently recruiting him, Pyke could land with the Badgers unless another program swoops in.

Pyke is not the flashy, ultra successful player that most fans want the Wisconsin basketball staff to bring in. However, the guard offers more to the team than most other players the staff has recruited thus far.
