West Virginia continues to contact players in the transfer portal with seven scholarship spots still to be filled. Here’s who WVU has contacted over the weekend that WV Sports Now and The Portal Report have confirmed.

Shakeel Moore | Sr. | G | Mississippi State

Moore (6-foot-1) spent the last three seasons at Mississippi State after beginning his career at NC State. Moore averaged 7.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Bulldogs during his senior year. Moore, a Greensboro, Nc. native, has one year of eligibility remaining and has heard most recently from Kansas, Seton Hall, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Glenn Taylor Jr. | Jr. | F | St. John’s

Taylor (6-foot-6) joined St. John’s roster last offseason during the transition into the Rick Pitino era. Taylor appeared in 33 games for the Red Storm, averaging 4.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Against West Virginia on Dec. 1, Taylor recorded six points, three rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 32 minutes.

Taylor began his career at Oregon State, playing two seasons under Wayne Tinkle. Taylor averaged 11.6 points as a sophomore. The Las Vegas native has one year of eligibility remaining.

West Virginia has lost Josiah Harris (F), Seth Wilson (G), Patrick Suemnick (F), Kerr Kriisa (G), Jeremiah Bembry (G), Kobe Johnson (G), Ali Ragab (C) and Noah Farrakhan (G) to the transfer portal so far.

The transfer portal entry window closes next Wednesday on May 1. Players just need to be entered by then and can extend their recruitment as long as they want to.
