Watch: Mississippi Valley State fans storm court after team picks up first win of the season

For the first time all season, Mississippi Valley State had something to celebrate.

The Delta Devils won their first game of the season on Monday night, defeating SWAC rival Prairie View A&M 57-51. To mark the occasion, fans did the most respectful court storming arguably in NCAA history, celebrating near mid-court before quickly exiting while the teams were still in the handshake line.

After a pair of incidents earlier this year involving fans running into Iowa's Caitlin Clark and Duke's Kyle Filipowski, other programs should take note.

Mississippi Valley State (1-27, 1-14 in SWAC) entered Monday as the lone winless team among 362 college basketball programs. The Delta Devils ranked last in the country in points per game (54) and 342nd in points allowed per game (79.2).

Mississippi Valley State next plays on Saturday, when it will try to extend its winning streak to two games. However, the court storming will have to wait. The Delta Devils close 2023-24 with three straight on the road.
