Texas A&M Star Tyrece Radford Arrested
USA TODAY Sports

Texas A&M  Aggies star basketball guard Tyrece Radford was arrested on Friday morning on charges of evading arrest with a vehicle, according to the Brazos-County website.

Radford is currently being held in the Brazos County Jail on Friday with an $8,000 bond. The Aggies return to Reed Arena on Saturday to take on Florida at 3 p.m.

According to the report, Radford fled from an officer “who was attempting to lawfully arrest or detain the defendant" on Dec. 3 around 2:47 a.m. Radford then sped past two officers on bicycles in the Northgate bar district in his Dodge Durango.

As Radford took off, officers reported a strong smell of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Around 45 minutes later, the Durango was pulled over by A&M police in the same area, though Radford told law enforcement had not been driving when the car initially fled the scene.

After further evaluation with the help of several surveillance cameras, police determined that Radford lied about being the driver who fled the scene. A warrant was issued and Radford was later arrested Friday morning.

One of A&M's top scorers, the senior is averaging 13 points per game, second-most behind potential SEC Player of the Year Wave Taylor IV. In 15 games, Raford has averaged 5.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and a steal. He's shooting 36.9 percent from the field.

A&M coach Buzz Williams is scheduled to meet with the media on Friday prior to tip-off. The Aggies are 12-8 overall and 3-4 in SEC play
