Texas A&M routs Nebraska in first round of NCAA Tournament

Wade Taylor IV, Tyrece Radford and Manny Obaseki all scored at least 20 points, with Taylor scoring 25 points to lead the Aggies to a 98-83 victory over the Cornhuskers. 

A&M shot 54.2 percent from three and 75 percent from the foul line, scoring their second-highest point total of the season when they needed to most. Nebraska's offense was also good, shooting 22-24 from the free throw line, but a 7-22 mark from beyond the arc doomed the Cornhuskers in a game where the Aggies lit up the three-point line.

Texas A&M also out-rebounded Nebraska by 12, winning the battle on the glass 40-28. The Aggies also doubled Nebraska in offensive rebounds, 14-7. 

Guard Brice Williams led the Cornhuskers with 24 points on 7-of-15 shooting, with forward Keisei Tominaga adding 21 points of his own. Ultimately, it wasn't enough to drive Nebraska for victory, but both players easily went over their season averages in points in Nebraska's biggest game of the year. 

Texas A&M seemed to be dead in the water after enduring a five-game losing streak that included losses to conference cellar dwellers in Arkansas and Vanderbilt. After the fifth loss of that streak, a 70-68 decision against South Carolina, the Aggies won five games in a row, including two in the SEC Tournament, before falling to Florida in the SEC Tournament semifinals. 

Despite the loss to Florida, the Aggies bounced back and played their best basketball of the year on Friday, setting up a date with the winner of the Houston-Longwood matchup.
