Kansas forward Jalen Wilson suspended three regular-season games after DUI arrest

Kansas Jayhawks sophomore forward Jalen Wilson was arrested on suspicion of DUI over this past weekend.

Per Jeff Borzello of ESPN, Kansas head coach Bill Self told reporters Tuesday that Wilson has been suspended one preseason game and three regular-season contests. Wilson will also complete community service during his ban.

As it pertains to the meaningful matchups, Wilson will miss next Tuesday's regular-season opener against the Michigan State Spartans. He's also unavailable to play against the Tarleton Texans and Stony Brook Seawolves.

Wilson addressed the situation on Tuesday:

Wilson averaged 11.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game during the 2020-21 season.

According to Matt Tait of KU Sports, Wilson said he has spoken with teammates since the arrest.

"We’ve all got to talk," he explained. "And we’re all on board for my mindset moving forward and (me) just being the best leader I can be."

Self added: "The decision he made was obviously very poor. He’s owned it. He’s acted like a man, and he’s determined to spin it into a positive over time in some way, shape or form. And I know he’ll work hard to do that"
