GCU’s Tyon Grant-Foster secures invite to 2024 NBA Draft Combine
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Grand Canyon University guard Tyon Grant-Foster was one of 78 prospects who received an invite to the 2024 NBA Draft Combine.

Arizona’s Keshad Johnson and Pelle Larsson are two more in-state players who received an invite to the combine.

In one of the greatest comeback stories in all of sports, Grant-Foster continues to gain the respect and praise that he deserves.

After multiple heart surgeries resulting from collapsing and suffering cardiac arrest while playing basketball, the Kansas native was forced to take 16 months away from the game he loves before returning.

Once he was cleared to play in March of 2023, Grant-Foster took a visit to GCU and ultimately committed to becoming a Lope.

In 34 games during his lone season with GCU, the two-way threat averaged a team-high 20.1 points per game, along with 6.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.5 blocks. This incredible play granted him to be named the school’s first WAC Player of the Year.

Grant-Foster led Grand Canyon to become WAC Champions and secured their first-ever NCAA Tournament win.

After proving that he can compete on the biggest of stages and help lead a team, Grant-Foster now looks to impress NBA scouts this month and rise as a potential first-round draft pick.

The combine is set to take place from May 12-19 in Chicago at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis.
