Friday's Look of the Day: Bears can weather Cyclones

We thought we were headed toward a bad beat when Villanova and Marquette went to overtime on Thursday night, but the game thankfully stayed under the total despite the five extra minutes of play. Let's go right back to college hoops and finish off the week with back-to-back winners. 

Look of the Day: Baylor Bears +1.5 (-110 FanDuel)

Baylor vs. Iowa State, Friday at 9:30 p.m., ESPN

Baylor takes on Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals this Friday, and we like the underdog in this one.

Iowa State's success comes from its elite defense. The Cyclones rank second in the country in KenPom's adjusted defensive efficiency, fourth in points allowed per game and second in turnovers forced per game. As good as their defense has been, though, their offense has been just as bad. Iowa State averaged just 63.3 points over the last six games in the regular season, which would be the 12th-worst mark in the country if extrapolated to a full season. 

The Cyclones don't want to get involved in a shooting contest, but Baylor can make them uncomfortable and cancel out their biggest strength. The Bears rank fourth in the country in three-point shooting percentage and fifth in adjusted offensive efficiency. If Baylor can speed up the game and turn it into somewhat of a shootout, Iowa State doesn't have the offensive firepower to keep up. 

The Bears shot 45.7 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from three in their two-point win against the Cyclones this year. Iowa State was able to keep it close because it forced 18 turnovers and went to the free-throw line 32 times, but that will be hard to replicate in the rematch.
