It’s hard to get used to Nebraska basketball being a national topic of conversation, but that’s what happens when you make it to March Madness.
Nebraska basketball earned their first trip to the NCAA tournament since 2014. A huge reason for that has been the play of Keisei Tominaga, who is the Huskers’ leading scorer. He also earned Second-Team All-Big Ten honors last week and will go down as one of the best players in program history.
That’s especially true if Nebraska beats Texas A&M on Friday to win the Huskers’ first-ever NCAA tournament game.
Even though March Madness hasn’t officially started, Tominaga has started to turn heads on a national level in college basketball. He was the talk of the sport last Friday after an electrifying performance over Indiana, a win that sent Nebraska basketball to the Big Ten semifinals.
Tominaga told Andy Katz after the game, “I love just playing basketball.” That comment resonated with Pat McAfee who showcased Tominaga on the Pat McAfee show and said he’s “all in” on the Nebraska basketball star, who also attracted other fans from the Big Ten and around the world last week.

An Ohio State fan wearing a wild thing jacket, along with a Michigan fan, cheered on Tominaga at the Big Ten tournament, along with a fan who traveled to Minnesota from Japan to watch the Japanese superstar.
Cornhusker Nation,
Thank you for an unbelievable experience, and inviting me into the fandom. The feedback has been incredible. As a Buckeye fan, you’ve won me over and I’m riding with Tominaga and Co. the rest of the way come March Madness.
Yours truly,

Other national media members have talked about how Tominaga could take the country by storm this week if he goes off in the NCAA tournament. Well, Keisei has McAfee’s attention and if he plays like we all know he’s capable of on Friday night, a true star will be born.
