Did Duke fall victim to infamous ‘Drake Curse’?

Duke’s NCAA Tournament run is officially over, and it turns out that they may have been the latest victims of one of sports’ most notorious curses.

Rapper Drake posted to his Instagram Story on Saturday that he had bet $100,000 in Canadian dollars (roughly $80,000 U.S. dollars) on Duke to win their Final Four game against hated rivals, North Carolina.

Unfortunately for Drake, all of that money ended up going right down the drain. Duke came up short against UNC, falling 81-77 in an epic game and the final one of head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s illustrious career.

Many on Twitter pointed out that the “Drake Curse” appeared to be back in full force with Duke’s loss.

Losing inevitably seems to follow whatever team the “Take Care” rapper bets on. Even MMA fighters are not immune from the “Drake Curse.”

There have been some teams that have defied the odds of the “Drake Curse” (such as the Los Angeles Rams winning this year’s Super Bowl and Drizzy’s Toronto Raptors winning the NBA title in 2019). But Drake has been jinxing sports teams for years now, and Duke was just his latest casualty.
