Aggies Rally vs. LSU With Their Best Player In Foul Trouble

Back on Jan. 6, the Aggies dropped a 68-53 decision to the LSU Tigers at Reed Arena. Wade Taylor scored a team-high 23 points and pulled down six rebounds in the loss. Only one other Aggie scored in double digits with Tyrece Radford hitting 11 points.

On Saturday, A&M found a bit of revenge at Pete Maravich Assembly Center but did it mostly without Taylor, who played just 22 minutes because of foul trouble.

The Aggies didn't shoot well from the foul line, making just 11 of 20 attempts, but they dominated on the offensive boards. A&M reigned supreme 27-0 in second-chance points.

Aggies coach Buzz Williams knew that would be key in a win on their floor.

“They beat us on the glass at their place they had 14 offensive rebounds we had 13," Williams said. "They beat us on the defensive glass they beat us yeah and that hadn’t been happening at all so today we beat them we beat them on the offensive glass 21 to 6 they beat us on the defensive glass 28 to 27 but we offensive rebounded 43% of our misses and we defensive rebounded 82% “

On Saturday, Taylor scored just 19 due to foul issues in the second half. Tyrece Radford picked up 15, Jace Carter scored 13, and Andersson Garcia dropped in 10, but everyone helped out on the boards - earning the win.

Garcia pulled down 10 boards, Radford registered nine, Solomon Washington grabbed seven and Carter had six.

It was a full team effort for Willliams' squad, who also now has won two games in a row in Baton Rouge - dating back to last season - for the first time since joining the SEC in 2012.

Next up for the Aggies are the Missouri Tigers on Tuesday night inside Reed Arena. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
