Tony Bellew predicts who would have won between Joe Calzaghe and Carl Froch

Tony Bellew shared his thoughts on a Froch vs Calzaghe mythical match-up to the Cobra’s face.

Carl Froch versus Joe Calzaghe is a popular fantasy fight after their careers just didn’t align to make the fight a possibility.

Froch had wanted to fight Calzaghe but the Welshman at that time had his sights set on huge fights stateside. So sadly the two former Super-middleweight champions never fought.

But Froch’s friend Tony Bellew gave his assessment of the dust-up.

Speaking on the Froch On Fighting YouTube channel he said:

“I don’t think you beat him mate. As great as you were, I don’t think you beat him. He’s a nightmare for anyone. But no one would outclass you. You faced the best super middleweight of your era in Andre Ward, and you weren’t out classed.”

“But Joe would be head and shoulders above anyone. With that workmate, how do you beat him? You’d be capable of knocking him out. He throws that many and you’ll always know you have been in a fight.”
