Ricky Hatton names his boxing hero
Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Ricky Hatton was asked to name his boxing hero and the popular Mancunian went for a member of ‘The Four Kings’.

‘The Hitman’ had a fanbase like no other as he travelled Stateside bringing thousands across the Atlantic to see his fights against greats like Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

So it is interesting to find out who exactly Hatton’s hero was.

In an interview with Boxing King Media he said,

“Roberto Duran, he was my hero. Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard, they all boxed each other, they are all greats of our sport.”

“What an era that was for our sport.”

Ricky Hatton retired with a record of (45-3) with his last bout against Vyacheslav Senchenko ending in heartbreak.

Just last year he featured in an exhibition bout with Mexican great Marco Antonio Barrera.
