Glen Johnson was defeated by journeyman / fringe prospect Andrzej Fonfara on Friday evening in Chicago, in the headline event of the week's Friday Night Fights card. He promised before the bout, if he lost, he would likely retire, and indeed, he did. Once the fight was over and the verdict was in, Johnson announced his retirement from the sport, ending a career which spanned nearly 20 years, and saw Johnson compete in 70 professional bouts all across the globe. Saturday’s earthquakes: Khan gets KO’d, Haye dominates & Johnson retires

Khan-Garcia, Haye-Chisora and the Retirement of Glen Johnson With two major fights scheduled, I went into this weekend expecting plenty of pugilistic drama. In Las Vegas, Amir Khan was looking to solidify his place as the 140 lbs division top dog by taking Danny Garcia's WBC belt away from him. The fight eclipsed even the British grudge match of Haye vs. Chisora in the British...
