PLAYERS: Will Claye
Will Claye of Phoenix, a Mountain Pointe High School graduate who now trains in San Diego, earned his second medal of the London Olympics on Friday by placing second in the triple jump behind U.S. teammate Christian Taylor. Taylor jumped 58 feet, 5 14 inches on his fourth jump to move past Claye, who was leading at the time. Claye's fourth jump went 57 feet, 9 34 inches to solidify his hold on second place. Italy's Fabrizio Donato won the bronze with a jump of 57-4 14. Claye, 21, adds a the silver medal to a bronze he won in the long jump last Saturday. He was a two-time Arizona high school champion in the triple jump while competing for Mountain Pointe.
