PLAYERS: Trey Hardee
Two-time defending decathlon champion Trey Hardee of the United States failed to clear a height in the high jump Saturday and was out of contention at the world championships. The Olympic silver medalist missed all three attempts at 1.90 meters. He was sitting fifth after three events and it was not immediately clear if he had been injured and if he would continue the competition, an unlikely move. Jeremy Taiwo of the United States did not start the high jump. He was 18th after the first three events.
