US defender Cherundolo signs new Hannover deal
United States defender Steve Cherundolo has signed a one-year contract extension with Hannover, six days after the captain set a club record for Bundesliga appearances.
Hannover announced Friday that Cherundolo will be staying through to the end of next season, ahead of the team's final league match of the season against Fortuna Duesseldorf.

Hannover captain Steve Cherundolo has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
Coach Mirko Slomka said Thursday the American defender, who turns 34 on Feb. 19, had the operation a day earlier. Slomka did not give a projection for the right back's return.
