Most people consider the final preseason game as a throwaway; regular starters don’t play, so it’s reserved mostly for guys who will be selling insurance three days later. But that notion, while grounded in some element of truth, isn’t 100 percent accurate. In fact, some on the bubble were able to play their way onto (and off of) rosters last week.
