Last year no one really knew who Marquette King was until the HBCU Bowl in Georgia. The 6’1, black punter was amazing and shocked every NFL Scout in Attendance. Marquette the small school prodigy from Fort Valley State, was booming 80 plus yard punts with 5 second hang times. The Oakland Raider saw something in the young, big, strong footed kicker from Fort Valley State. They saw something that they are use to seeing in Shane Lechler who is in his final year of his contract. They saw 70 plus yard punts, they saw perfect corner kicks and they saw a kid who is not afraid to run down the field and level someone. Well Oakland fans, no need to fear....

An injury to seven-time Pro Bowler Shane Lechler and a modification of his kicking style have changed those plans slightly.
