WATCH: Kurt Warner’s son sets new Arizona receptions record
There could be more than one football star in the Warner family. Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Everyone knows the story of Kurt Warner.

A Division II quarterback at Northern Iowa in the early 1990s, Warner spent time bagging groceries at a local supermarket after he was cut by the Packers in training camp. Latching on as an assistant coach at his alma mater Northern Iowa, Warner and his wife were living in his in-laws’ basement before Warner got the itch to play again.

That sparked an Arena Football career that landed him a spot with the St. Louis Rams. Over 200 touchdowns and 32,000 passing yards later, he has three Super bowl appearances, including a win over the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV.

Fast forward seven years from his playing days, and another Warner is breaking records in Arizona.

Kade Warner is a 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver at Desert Mountain high school in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has spent most of his life in the shadow of his father, Kurt, but is making a big name for himself in the Arizona prep ranks.

Following last weeks thrilling 49-42 win over Horizon, Kade broke the Arizona state record for career catches with 225 — and counting.

Kade, a senior who is also a track and basketball star, is senior quarterback Andrew Neussie’s favorite and most reliable receiver. Additionally, his dogged determination has kept a tough Desert Mountain team in contention for a league championship.

While a lack of top-end speed has worried college coaches, as he currently holds no Division I offers, expect Warner to take cues from his father to become a household name in the coming years.

Can you name every St. Louis Rams player to catch a touchdown pass from Kurt Warner?
