Troy Aikman said he “could not care less” about a petition from Green Bay Packers fans calling for him and Joe Buck to be banned from calling the team’s games.

Packers fan Andrew Dorff, of Brookfield, Wisc., launched a petition, entitled, “Get Troy Aikman and Joe Buck banned from announcing Green Bay Packer’s [sic] games” on Change.org. It reads as follows:

This is a petition to get Joe Buck and Troy Aikman banned from announcing/commentating on the Green Bay Packers.

On behalf of the Green Bay Packers fans across the world, we would like action taken to prohibit them from giving their constant negative input about our team. We are sick of the biased announcing always coming from them.

As of Thursday morning, the petition has garnered nearly 23,000 virtual signatures.

The FOX broadcaster, appearing on The Ticket (96.7 FM/1030 AM) Thursday morning, essentially blew off the petition and what it represents, although his broadcast partner, Joe Buck, might be bothered by it.

“I could not care less about that. I know Joe, he does get a little bit bothered by it,” Aikman said, via The Dallas Morning News. “He’s a little sensitive when he hears that people don’t want us to broadcast their games.”

Aikman, a Dallas Cowboys legend, admits his former team’s fans are critical as well, arguing that he’s “against their team.” He also admitted to being somewhat surprised by the parties involved in launching the petition, saying how he and Buck have praised the Packers for how well they’ve been playing when the duo has called the team’s games in recent weeks.

“So it’s a little bit confusing,” Aikman said of the petition. “But it is what it is.”

Despite the petition, which has no legitimate value one way or the other besides allowing those who sign it to vent, Aikman says he and Buck are still calling the Packers-Cowboys divisional-round game this weekend.

“Last I’ve heard, we will be there on Sunday, and we’ll be calling the game and we’ll try to do the best job we can,” he said.
