The week in NFL news explained by The Beatles

Sure, the college football season might be over, but there's still plenty of sports news that needs explaining. In that spirit, and also because NFL news seems to break every 20 minutes, we'll now be enlisting our superstar musician friends to help explain the week's pro football news. And for such a big news week for the league, we'll need an equally big band to "Help!" us parse it all out.

See what I did there?

So may I introduce to you, the act you've known for all these years, the week in NFL news, as explained by the Beatles.

"Hello, Goodbye" - Jeff Fisher is finally gone

It seems like it was only a few days ago that we were all laughing at the Los Angeles Rams for inking an extension deal with Jeff Fisher. Oh, right. That's because it was.

Fast forward less than a week, and Jeff Fisher had tied the record for all-time losses by any head coach in the NFL ever, following a rout at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons. And now, with three weeks left in the season, the Rams finally decided that they had had enough. Again, this is mere days after news broke that the Rams had signed Fisher to a two-year extension.

The Rams are now approaching sitcom-levels of hilarious mismanagement, and the players all know it. But the funnier thing, at least as it stands now, is that this isn't the last we'll have seen of Jeff Fisher. People who have followed Fisher's career know that while we're saying goodbye right now, before long, despite everything, another team will say hello to him very, very soon.

"Yesterday" - The Seahawks' loss just flipped the narrative

It was all so simple. Russell Wilson was looking healthy. The defense was the NFL's best. The story practically wrote itself: after a sluggish start to the season, the Seahawks would rally and become the team to beat in the NFC.

Well, the Packers apparently didn't like that story much.

The Seahawks did something wrong, now they're longing for yesterday. From five Russell Wilson interceptions (though to be completely fair a few weren't his fault), to the fact that Aaron Rodgers was pretty much able to throw at will against the Seahawks secondary, the Seahawks appear not to be half the team they used to be.

It's by no means panic mode for the Seahawks yet, but if there are more yesterdays like this past Sunday, fans might be looking for a place to hide away, believing in the yesterdays of previous seasons.

"Run For Your Life" - Aqib Talib has it out for Harry Douglas

Next time Harry Douglas is visiting his agent in Atlanta, he'll need to keep his head. After the Titans player laid a dirty (but legal!) hit on Chris Harris during Denver's loss to Tennessee on Sunday, Aqib Talib said, in no uncertain terms, that he would beat Douglas's, um, posterior the next time he saw him.

In Douglas's defense, the play was legal – it's technically okay to block below the knees assuming you're away from the play – but at the same time, blocks like that are incredibly dangerous. The NFL will likely do what the NFL does, and try to fix the issue after the fact, but that doesn't change the fact that the play was dirty, or the fact that Douglas might want to hide his head in the sand the next time he's in Atlanta.

"I'm Looking Through You" – Has Dak Prescott been exposed?

If you were looking for intrigue in this paragraph, I'm sorry. The answer is no, Dak hasn't been exposed. But what we have learned after this loss to the Giants is that we're looking through Dak, and he's not the same. Or at least, he doesn't look the same.

Listen, understanding Dak Prescott is simple. He's a pretty good quarterback with above-average decision making abilities for a rookie, who has been given the gift of the best offensive line in football. When he doesn't have time in the pocket, when he's under pressure, and when he's asked to play from behind, some of the cracks start to show. This has been as true of him during Week 1 as it was this past Sunday. The only difference now, is he's down there.

"I Want To Tell You" – Everyone has opinions on Pryor

So Terrelle Pryor had to do something, right? This has to be more than just normal trash talk. Last week it was Janoris Jenkins tweeting at him, and this week it's Adam Jones looking for Pryor in a literal garbage can.

It seems like defensive backs across the league's heads are filled with things to say, and after the games begin to drag everyone down, they seem to act, well, unkind.

Coach Hue Jackson has said that Pryor has to take some responsibility and cut down on the trash talk a bit, but at the same time, it seems clear that there's something else going on here. Maybe he routinely forgets to post on NFL stars's walls when it's their birthday. Or maybe he's just a jerk online when they all play Call of Duty together. Either way, it seems like this isn't going to stop, even though it kind of seems cruel given how the Browns' season has been going.
