Bills DB: Jags' Allen Robinson an 'average' receiver

After losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday in London 34-31, Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore had an odd choice of words to describe Jags star wide receiver Allen Robinson.

"He wasn't really tough to guard if you watch the film," Gilmore said after the game of Robinson. "He caught, I don't know how many passes. He wasn't tough to guard. If you watch the film it will tell you that."

Considering Robinson went off for six catches, for 98 yards, and touchdown while being covered all game by Gilmore, reality would seem to disagree with Gilmore's assessment.

"He's OK," Gilmore went on to. "He's an NFL receiver. Average"

For the record, Robinson, a second year player out of Penn State, currently ranks sixth in NFL in receiving yards with 586 yards, and is tied for the league lead in receiving touchdowns with six.

If Robinson is in fact an average receiver as Gilmore has suggested, his numbers certainly don't back up his claim.
