Ray Lewis: Julio Jones is best player in Super Bowl, not Brady
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Future Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis has great respect for Tom Brady, but he doesn’t think New England’s golden boy is the best player in Super Bowl LI.

Instead, Lewis tweeted Sunday before the big game that the Falcons will win because Julio Jones takes the cake as the best player in this game.

This is an interesting take. Many, including fellow quarterback Drew Brees, have stated this past week that Brady will be the GOAT if the Pats win their fifth championship with him behind center.

That being said, it’s not hard to put Jones right up there with Brady as one of the biggest impact players in the NFL. Heck, even playing with an extremely painful foot injury, he abused the Green Bay Packers to the tune of 180 yards and two touchdowns (including this 73-yard score) on nine catches two weekends ago.

We’ll find out soon enough whether Brady, Jones or some other player proves to be the “best” in Super Bowl LI. It could even be a person nobody expects, which we delved into earlier this week.

What we do know for sure is that there are plenty of outstanding players on both teams, and the title bout should be fantastic.
