Charles Woodson: I have at least 10 years left in me

Oakland Raiders safety Charles Woodson insists he is a "young 39."

When asked by radio show host Jim Rome whether he would be playing into his 40's like his NFL contemporaries Tom Brady and Drew Brees have suggested, Woodson made his belief quite clear.

"I have at least 10 years left in me," Woodson told Rome. "I can get to 50."

Woodson, an 18-year NFL veteran, turned 39 years old earlier this month, but still remains one of the Raiders most consistent defensive players despite his elderly football age. Woodson has 26 tackles on the season, and is tied for the league lead in interceptions with four.

The 1997 Heisman Trophy winner, Woodson, Peyton Manning, and Matt Hasselbeck are the only players still playing in the NFL from its 1998 Draft class.

Whether Woodson hangs up his cleats 10 years from now or sooner, the defensive back will surely be enshrined into the NFL Hall of Fame when his career is over.
