Five outrageous predictions for Week 6 of the NFL season

Don't look now, but we were correct with two of our outrageous predictions from last week. That's not a bad success rate considering the point of these articles is to provide ... outrageous predictions.

This week, the focus is on a couple undefeated teams slated to lose their first games of the season. From a struggling Peyton Manning in Denver to Tom Brady attempting to continue his stellar early-season performance, both the Broncos and New England Patriots could very well find themselves on the losing end of the ledger this week.

Meanwhile, it's our prediction that the Carolina Panthers will remain undefeated against a suddenly struggling Seahawks team in Seattle.

Check below for our reasoning behind five pretty ridiculous predictions for Week 6 of the NFL season.

1. Cleveland Browns will hand the Denver Broncos their first loss of the season

Cleveland will find a way to beat an undefeated Broncos team that has been more lucky than good over the past few weeks. This win will come with Josh McCown continuing his excellent play against the league's fifth-best pass defense.

There are a few interesting things to look at when analyzing this matchup. Denver boasts the league's 30th-ranked rushing offense. Meanwhile, Cleveland's defense enters Week 6 allowing the second-most rushing yards in the NFL.

If the Browns are able to shut down a weak running game, it will force Peyton Manning to beat a solid secondary through the air. In the nine games Manning has started since Week 14 of last season, he's totaled nine touchdowns compared to 13 interceptions. Sadly for the Broncos, if the game is in his hands, Cleveland will come out on top.

2. Carolina Panthers will remain undefeated with win in Seattle

There are numerous factors that lead us to believe Seattle will end Sunday's game with a 2-4 record and much closer to last place than first place.

Above all else, Russell Wilson simply hasn't received the necessary protection to help the Seahawks offense show any sort of consistency. On pace to be sacked more than any other quarterback in the history of the league, Wilson has led Seattle's offense to the fewest touchdowns (seven) in the NFL through five weeks.

He's now going to be tasked with going up against the league's fourth-ranked scoring defense with Luke Kuechly seeing his first action since Week 1.

Defensively, this just isn't the same team that we have seen in the past. After blowing a 17-point fourth quarter lead against the Cincinnati Bengals last week, Seattle's defense has now blown three games in the final stanza this season.

Considering Cam Newton is playing the best football of his career, he seems prepared to get over the hump against a Seahawks team that has given him fits in the past. The MVP candidate is on pace for over 4,100 total yards with 36 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions on the season. Look for him to continue this excellent play while keeping Carolina undefeated on the season.

3. San Diego Chargers leave Lambeau Field with a .500 record

San Diego heads into this all-important Week 6 matchup reeling after a late-game loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. It does so with a ton of confidence on offense after Antonio Gates returned from his suspension to score two touchdowns last week.

With Gates back in the fold and rookie running back Melvin Gordon playing a larger role on offense, that unit is primed to pick it up big time moving forward.

Going up against a much-improved Green Bay Packers defense on the road will be a tough task. It could also very well end in a second consecutive Chargers loss. Though, there's something to the trickle-down effect of Gates' return.

Keenan Allen (39 receptions in five games) will no longer be the central focus of opposing defenses. Meanwhile, Ladarius Green (19 receptions) should be able to find mismatches with his tight end-in-arms returning to action.

Look for San Diego to put up 30-plus points in a surprising win over the undefeated Packers. Told you this was all about bold predictions.

4. Dan Campbell's Miami Dolphins debut proves to be a major success

Even at 1-3 on the season and after firing head coach Joe Philbin, the Dolphins have an opportunity to get back into the playoff race with two relatively easy games before taking on New England in Week 8.

It starts against a one-win Titans team on the road in Dan Campbell's head coaching debut. Campbell has expressed an interest in showing that the Dolphins aren't one of those soft teams that fold in the trenches.

In this, I fully expect Lamar Miller to get an ample amount of touches here. Miller, who averaged 5.1 yards per attempt last season, hasn't been able to get into a rhythm in 2015. He's touched the ball an average of less than 10 times per game. That's simply not going to be the case with Campbell calling the shots.

Look for Miller to create the necessary balance on offense for Ryan Tannehill to have success through the air — two things that will lead to a double-digit Dolphins win.

5. Andrew Luck returns with a 300-yard, three-touchdown performance in a win against the New England Patriots

Luck struggled big time early in the season prior to suffering a shoulder injury in Week 3. Now that he looks to be near 100 percent for an Indianapolis Colts team that has won three consecutive games, this matchup is ripe for an upset.

With Frank Gore on pace to put up 1,000-plus yards at running back and Donte Moncrief stepping up as a viable second option behind T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis boasts enough weapons to keep pace with Tom Brady and the Patriots.

It's now going to be all about Luck avoiding the turnovers that plagued him early in the season. If he does that, Indianapolis will hand the Patriots their first loss of the season.
