Minnesota Timberwolves guard J.J. Barea was fined $5,000 on Monday for his second violation this season of the NBA's anti-flopping rules. The league said Barea's second occurrence happened in a Jan. 14 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. His first warning came Nov. 5. The rule was put in place this season to stop players from excessive flopping on fouls. Brooklyn's Reggie Evans and Gerald Wallace were the first two players fined for flopping after the league's new policy was put in place. Barea is averaging 11.0 points and 4.4 assists per game this season.
