A polarizing choice to kick off the gallery, I'm a fan of the of the new Hawks uniforms. Sure, I'm not totally sold on the highlighter yellow and mixing, and matching jersey and short colors seems like a recipe for disaster, but overall the Hawks greatly improved their look.
The Astros are another team that has recently gone with the "modern retro" look, and it was a wise choice. Sure, I would have preferred for them to go back to those iconic '70s "Tequila Sunrise" jerseys, but this new look is still quite stellar.
No, you didn't just accidentally click over to the "25 Worst Uniforms" list. Sure, the Marlins' new look is polarizing — and it wouldn't have worked in Milwaukee or Cleveland — but the city of Miami is bright, opulent and often gaudy on purpose. This uniform fits the franchise to a T.
While the Wizards didn't quite do exactly what the Blue Jays did, they came close enough. Ditching the Gilbert Arenas-era threads for something that resembles the unis from the Wes Unseld era was a wise choice. Now if they'd only go back to being the Bullets...
If it feels as if the Blackhawks have had the same jerseys forever, it's because they pretty much have. The quintessential case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
The Suns' jerseys during the Steve Nash era were downright atrocious. The two-time MVP and the Seven-Seconds-or-Less Suns deserved better. The team's new look harkens back to the Barkley era, and while Chuck's Suns' jerseys were still a bit better, the new look is a welcome change from the prior decade.
Another polarizing selection for the best list, but to me, the Seahawks' uniforms are the quintessential modern-day NFL jersey, which is perfect, because they just might be the quintessential modern-day franchise.
There's been little evolution to the Spurs' uniform over the years, and that's with good cause. Much like the team's play every year on the court, it's hard to find a flaw with this look.
The Raiders don't do a whole lot right these days, but at least they've never strayed away from the Silver and Black.
The Miami Heat is a very modern team, and modern teams tend to go a little too crazy with their uniform and logo designs. But the Heat has very few misses when it comes to its aesthetics over the years. Even the various alternate monochrome jerseys the Heat has rolled out over the last few seasons have been tastefully done and welcome additions.
The Mariners have been around for less than 40 years, and they've had this look now for more than half of the franchise's existence. Unlike other teal-loving teams from the '90s, the M's were able to incorporate the trendy color and make it part of the team's identity without making it look like a soon-to-be-dated gimmick.
The white jerseys pictured here are quite possibly the most underrated jersey in the NHL. Newer hockey teams tend to go overboard with the designs and color schemes, but the Wild is an exception to that rule.
Much like the Blackhawks and Spurs, little has changed over the years for the Dodgers' uniforms, and for good reason. This is simply a classic look that stands the test of time. The team may be different in 2016, but don't expect any major uniform alterations.
Another tried-and-true classic, the Dallas Cowboys also get bonus points for wearing pants of a totally ambiguous and unnamed color. Go ahead, tell me the exact name of that color. Come on. I'll wait...
To call the Lakers' look "iconic" is an understatement. Perhaps no other team in all of sports is as closely associated with its colors as the Lakers are. Although, personally, I'd love to see them go back to the font they used in during the '80s Showtime era.
The Blue Jays did something I wish more teams would do: admit that their jersey changes weren't working and revert back to their classic look. The sports world would be a much prettier place if more teams followed the Jays' lead.
When a franchise has utilized the same uniform look for over a century, it's safe to say that it's certainly doing something right. The Canadiens' look is without a doubt the most iconic uniform in the NHL and arguably all of sports.
The Bulls are the only team in the NBA that has never changed its logo, and with the exception of a few font changes over the years, their uniforms have remained relatively consistent (and awesome) as well.
Another iconic look that has stood the test of time from Musial to Pujols to today, the Cardinals often claim to have the best fans in baseball, and they just might have the best uniforms as well.
Give or take a few tweaks, the 49ers' look has remained relatively consistent for 30+ years. They sport arguably the best helmet in football, and the red, white and gold uniforms are some of the best around.
The Warriors have had some truly awful uniforms over the years, but their current look feels both retro and modern at the same time. Plus, the color scheme is perfect. The layout of the name, number and logo on the front also gives the Dubs the most unique aesthetic in the NBA.
What a difference a year makes. Had this gallery been compiled last season, the Bucks and their Christmas colors would have made the worst list, but now they find themselves with some of the best threads in the league. They're a rare perfect marriage between a team's retro look and modern-day aesthetics.
Arguably the most iconic uniform in all of sports, it would be hard to picture the Pack taking the field in anything other than traditional green and gold. In the same way that the Celtics have the perfect NBA uniform, the Packers' look is just about impossible to top.
Quite possibly the perfect basketball uniform. Now if only someone in the Celtics' organization would smarten up and ditch any of the team's alternate uniforms that feature any other colors besides white and green.
The Cubs are credited with being the first team to have pinstripes on their unis, but it's the Yankees that turned them into an identity. Has a player ever signed with the Yankees and not immediately mentioned what an honor it is to get to put on the pinstripes every day and go to work?
