If you've ever played pick-up basketball before, you know that there are always certain types of players who can ruin an otherwise glorious game of hoops. Former NBA champion and legendary sharpshooter Eddie House is a lover of great pick-up games, and he revealed that while playing at UCLA's Student Activities Center, Magic Johnson was a chronic abuser of calling all the fouls on game point.
"Magic Johnson at UCLA, where the pickup games were serious and he was playing, if it was a game point...every time he's calling a foul. Making sure he wins the game," House said while at Pac-12 Media Day with Yardbarker.
Clearly, House thinks Magic is a foul guy.
"That's a true story, and everybody out there knows who played with Magic knows that's what he does."
Former Los Angeles Lakers ballboy and UCLA pick-up game organizer Adam Mills can support House's claims, as he spoke about Magic's hijinks to Dime Magazine back in 2008, “You’d have some amazing 20-minute games with Magic calling 15 fouls in a row whether someone was near was near him or not.”
Next time you see Magic, be sure to ask him about his times playing pick-up at UCLA...but don't get too close, or he might call a foul.
