Start ‘N’ Park Blog is taking a look back at the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver by driver. This recap will take a look at the driver’s stats, the season’s highlights, the season’s lowlights, what a quick look at next year. This installment takes a look back at Travis Kvapil who finished in the 27th place in the final standings. 2012 Statistics: Points: 638 Position: 27th Preseason Pick: N/A Starts: 35 Poles: 0 Wins: 0 Top 5s: 0 Top 10s: 1 DNFs: 3 Earnings: $3,607,246 What Was Said Prior To The Season: Kvpail’s deal with BK racing came after the start of the season, so nothing was noted about that. Kvapil was previewed because we all thought he would run for Front Row Motorsports, but not very applicable to what he did. What Happened In 2012: Kvapil got the nod after Daytona for BK Racing and ran the entire season with them, moving to the #73 BK Racing entry for Darlington. He actually turned in a great season, in the realm of he missed a race and still out gained others who ran the full season in points. Including teammate Landon Cassill and he did it without having to park at all in the season. I thought for sure that would be season would be bouncing team to team parking. His best finish was an eighth at Talladega in the fall. On To 2013: We think he will be back with BK Racing in 2013, I believe the team might turn a little corner in being more consistent in their finishes. I give them a lot of credit to running all the races, rather than parking some of the races.
