While nicknamed the ‘Monster Mile,’ RFR has experienced a great deal of success at every level of NASCAR competition at Dover. Roush Fenway started a total of 255 NASCAR races at Dover, tallying 16 wins, 78 top fives, 121 top 10s and 10 poles, while leading 4795 laps in NASCAR action.
Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. on racing at Dover International Speedway: “Dover is one track that really suits my driving style. The track is fast but also very challenging. The turns are unique because of the way you drive up out of them. I am running double-duty this weekend so that is going to be a lot of fun. Rancher’s Reserve/Safeway will be on our No. 6 Ford for both races. The championship battle is very tight so we need a strong finish at Dover this weekend.”
Crew chief Mike Kelley on racing at Dover International Speedway: “Dover is one of the tracks that we go to with a concrete surface which is tough on our cars. Earlier in June, our Mustang was strong so we are bringing the same chassis back for another shot at the win. The track changes a lot during the race so we will just have to keep tweaking on our No. 6 Rancher’s Reserve/Safeway Ford Mustang. Dover has one of the coolest trophies so we hope we are taking it home after the race.”
So far in 2012, Ricky has five wins, 16 top-five, and 20 top-ten finishes.
Stenhouse is currently second in the NASCAR Nationwide point standings; 4 points behind Elliott Sadler.
At Dover, Stenhouse will pilot the No. 6 Rancher’s Reserve Ford Mustang.
Stenhouse has completed 933 of 1014 (92.0%) laps at Dover International Speedway.
Stenhouse has an average starting position of 6.6 and an average finishing position of 14.0 at Dover.
