Two drivers battling for 15th place resulted in a post race scuffle. In the scuffle Nelson Piquet Jr. took the opportunity to kick Brian Scott in the groin. “He kicks me right below the belt, which I think is a below the belt shot” said Scott. After the incident both drivers took exception to each others driving on Friday night as well as the previous race at Martinsville. In the clip below the kick by Piquet can be seen at the 1:33 mark. Later in the night two crew members of Richard Childress Racing (Scott’s team) were arrested for assault at the track. Michael A. Scearce, 50, and Thomas F. Costello, 35, were taken into custody after a postrace incident spilled over to the driver/owner motorhome lot. The names of the victims have yet to be released. Scearce and Costello are both members of RCR’s #2 team, which fields cars for Brian Scott. Both men were charged with misdemeanors and released early Saturday morning.
