Martin Truex Jr is sitting fifth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) points entering this weekends race at Watkins Glen. While Truex has yet to win a race in the 2012 season he feels a win is just around the corner. Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR) has said they did not plan any driver changes at the end of the year. Truex recently said that he is close to finishing an extension with MWR. “We’re very, very close. I’m not going to say it’s done, but it’s basically done. I’m very, very happy about that. I guess, it’s one of those deals where we had to work out some details, but there was never a time when the whole thought of going through contract negotiations again came up that there was never a thought of me saying what are my options, what am I thinking. Trujex impressive despite no wins

Truex has had a really great season so far. He has a pole position, five top-5 finishes and 11 top-10 finishes in...

This weekend the Thomasville, N.C. native makes his fifth start in the No. 55 driving the MyClassicGarage Toyota. He owns two top-five finishes and has completed every lap in the four races he’s run in 2012 for the Rodney Childers’ led team. Vickers has...

Vickers Out After Start Of Finger Lakes 355 At The Glen

Brian Vickers, driver of the #55 Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing, had engine issues before even completing a lap. His statement on what happened: “we blew an engine getting into turn 6. On the downshift maybe I over-revved it. I’m not sure. It’s really frustrating. Toyota was a really good car and I was really excited about the race.”
