After 35 races and thousands of miles traveled along this great country, 400 miles stands in the way of two drivers: Penske’s Brad Keselowski and Hendrick’s Jimmie Johnson from a Sprint Cup title.  The Ford Ecoboost 400 will have another championship decided there and the track provides for great racing and multiple grooves.  Keselowski, the Sprint Cup points leader by 20 over Johnson, has to finish 15th or better to secure his and team owner Roger Penske’s first Sprint Cup Championship.  Keselowski has the early edge on the five-time champion, qualifying third in his Miller Lite Dodge and moving to the front row after pole sitter (and 2013 teammate) Joey Logano was forced to a backup car due to a wreck during final practice caused by Chasers Denny Hamlin and Greg Biffle.  Johnson starts 10th in the Lowe’s Home Improvement Chevrolet and will need to win to force Keselowski’s hand today.  Johnson has never won at Homestead-Miami – his best finish being second in 2010, when he overtoo...

Joey Logano's crash in practice puts Brad Keselowski on front row

During Friday's time trials at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Joey Logano knocked Sprint Cup championship contender Brad Keselowski off the front row for Sunday's Ford EcoBoost 400. During Saturday's first practice session, Logano restored Keselowski to the front of the field -- without meaning to -- giving third-place qualifier Keselowski a possible leg up in his title...

A new champion- Keselowski does it in 2012

It’s been a long road to the top for Brad Keselowski. Keselowski ready for role of champ

Before the party continued at the W in South Beach, Brad Keselowski lugged his new trophy down the backstretch at Homestead-Miami Speedway. His mission? The perfect avatar photo. "I want it dark," Keselowski said. "Like Batman and (crap)." As he strolled away from the generator-powered lights, the new Sprint Cup champion experimented with several poses and...

Brad Keselowski got some help on the last day of practice for NASCAR's Sprint Cup season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Pole sitter Joey Logano was involved in a three-car accident during the first of two practice sessions Saturday, switched to a backup car and will start from the rear of the field Sunday. That will move Keselowski, who had qualified third, to the front...

Possible milestones

If he should win the Sprint Cup title, Brad Keselowski would be the first Michigan native to do so. Keselowski, 28, also would be the first Cup champion born after Richard Petty won his seventh and final championship (1979) and after Dale Earnhardt Sr. won his first (1980). If Ty Dillon, 20, were to overcome a 12-point deficit to James Buescher and win the NASCAR Camping World Truck...
