Ross Kenseth couldn't tell you just how many laps he's made at Madison International Speedway in his lifetime, but Saturday's had to be one of his most impressive.   Kenseth qualified on the pole for Sunday's Herr's Live Life With Flavor 200 at Madison with a fast qualifying time of 18.217 seconds.   "Driving in a late model is not a good comparison to these ARCA cars," he said. "The biggest thing is the horsepower and driving into the corners. The guys did a great job preparing the car. It's been a good weekend so far."   Kenseth went out fourth in the qualifying session, then watched as his lap held up against the likes of Venturini Motorsports drivers Justin Boston and Kyle Benjamin, Mason Mingus, Frank Kimmel and local driver Travis Sauter.   "I'm excited about this race," he said. "It's great that some local guys can come up here and race against the ARCA drivers."   Boston, in the ZLOOP Computer & Recy...

Kenseth has racked up 5 wins - Is it enough?

Matt Kenseth found his way back to Victory Lane Saturday night after a great race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Obviously anytime you have a driver and a team that has won five races so far in 24 events in our regular season there is no way you cannot pick them as being the favorite for winning the championship. To be fair, however, you can't ignore the fact that Matt has had a...

Kenseth soaring into Chase after Bristol victory

Matt Kenseth had old tires, a sputtering gas tank and Kasey Kahne in his rearview mirror in the closing laps of a race for the third time this season. The result was the same as it was in Las Vegas, same as it was in Kansas. Kenseth won again. He held off Kahne on Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway - the third time this season the two have gone 1-2 - to reclaim some of the...

Kenseth surges, Johnson stumbles

I think it is safe to say that we have seen a role-reversal of sorts over the last few weeks when you look at the #20 car and the #48 car. Matt Kenseth easily had the hot hands early in the year bringing home four wins and then he cooled off. Jimmie Johnson also put four wins on the board and if these last two weeks are any indication, he's definitely cooled off. Two weeks ago...

Matt Kenseth rebounded from a pit-road speeding penalty and a furious late-race charge by Kasey Kahne to win the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. It was Kenseth's season-high fifth victory of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season, and his first since winning at Kentucky Speedway in June. Kahne dogged Kenseth over the final 20 laps, but had to settle for second ahead...

Kenseth scores Bristol night race win, clinches Chase birth

Matt Kenseth is the driver that you can count on to finish inside – or near – the top-10 each and every week. That was until recently as the 2003 Sprint Cup champion hit a stretch where he finished two of the past three races outside the top-20. And in the races where his finishes weren’t outside the top-20, the driver of the No.20 never showed his early-season form in which...

Kasey Kahne refused to wreck Matt Kenseth at Bristol

Kasey Kahne had his chance Saturday night to get revenge on Joe Gibbs Racing, but he refused to not race clean, trying every which way to pass Matt Kenseth without wrecking him. Kahne was fed up with all of JGR after Kenseth made contact with his No. 5 Chevrolet earlier this month,
